Carts in Aisles
When shopping, I hate when other customers bring their over-sized carts down narrow aisles. Everyone’s been in this situation before. You’re standing in an aisle debating whether or not to buy something and some over-sized person is pushing their over-sized cart with their over-sized, screaming child down the aisle right at you. When they get to you they ask you politely to move, but they still struggle mightily to squeeze their way past you, creating a horrible situation for everyone involved. This is what the shopping experience is now like; repeatedly moving out of the way for other people. Why can’t people just leave their carts at the end of an aisle and walk down it? Detach for a second from your massive consuming extension and take a fucking walk.

Excuse Me, Ming?
One thing that I really enjoy is messing with salespeople at stores. One of my favorite things to do at Home Goods is to bring a $5 vase up to a salesperson and ask if they know if it’s from the Ming Dynasty.
“Excuse me, you know this really looks like it could be a porcelain export from the Ming Dynasty, do you have a porcelain expert on staff? This could really be a find.”
The problem is I’m running out of salespeople to try this on. I might need to find another Home Goods.

Sell Yourself
You shouldn’t need a celebrity to sell products that are actually good. You shouldn’t need Matthew McConaughey with his shirt off to sell your merchandise. When did it become popular and common to use well-known faces and voices to sell products? I’m assuming studies have been conducted that confirm these methods do lead to more sales, but I still don’t quite understand the draw. Your product should sell itself. Your product should do it’s own advertising through word of mouth and other social techniques. That’s why it should be pretty clear that when you see a celebrity selling a product, the product is pure shit. The company has clearly decided that they would rather spend their money on a celebrity in a commercial than make their product better. Avoid celebrity-advertised merchandise at all costs!

Hands Full
Sometimes I’ll go into a store with the intention of buying one particular item, so I don’t bother getting a basket or cart at the door. This is usually a bad decision as I’m very impulsive and often find numerous things to buy when all is said and done. So you can typically find me trying to balance a whole lot of crap in my arms like an idiot as I’m reaching for more stuff, as I’m not smart enough to put down the items for 2 minutes to go get something better to hold them in.
Supermarket Bags
Posted by WIWAM in Health/Nutrition/Food, Shopping on November 12th, 2009
Every time you go to the supermarket and buy a whole bunch of items they end up stuffing every bag to the brim. The bags gets so full and heavy that a second bag is needed to put around the first in order to support the weight of all the items. Now you’re using two bags! So why don’t they just make thicker bags to support the weight of a full bag? The cheap bastards! At least at most supermarkets now you can bring in reusable bags and save a whole lot of plastic and aggravation. Their motivation may be to save money on bags but at least the end result is good for everyone. Yippie for progress!

Poor Store Location
The word urban usually refers to a city environment. So imagine my surprise when I found an Urban Outfitters in a suburban (relating to smaller residential community) mall. Who the hell wants to be outfit with urban items when they live in the suburbs?! How does this store stay in business?
