I’m Not Really Glad
Posted by WIWAM in Commonalities, Sports/Entertainment/Music on June 30th, 2010
I’m not really glad they made The Children’s Aid Society. I don’t know how long ago it was that I heard the jingle on T.V. for The Children’s Aid Society but it was long enough that I’m concerned about my well-being that I still remember it vividly. I can’t remember where I put my glasses on a daily basis but for the rest of my life I will be able to sing the jingle to this commercial. I don’t know if The Children’s Aid Society still plays those comemrcials but I really hope that they don’t. Another generation of people do not need to be subjected to such a memorable, life-altering jingle. I feel like it’s eating away at my brain. I’m really glad they made… The Children’s Aid… Society. It plays over and over and over again in my head. I think every tenth playback it has a subliminal message that tells me to murder my family. I don’t trust it.

Side Effects Include Screaming
Posted by WIWAM in Health/Nutrition/Food on June 23rd, 2010
I recently saw a commercial for Plavix, an anti-blood clotting medication. I was amazed at the length of time it took to speak to all the side effects and possible problems that go along with the drug. I imagine that if you’re on Plavix or a drug like it you need it pretty badly (although many of our nice American doctors do love to make money off of prescribing unnecessary drugs) but that list was exceptionally long. My favorite part was when I heard the commercial state “If you develop fever, unexplained weakness or confusion, tell your doctor promptly.” Those are pretty serious side effects. At least the confusion sounds pretty serious. Is confusion a common side effect? How do they expect you to tell your doctor if you experience confusion? If I experience confusion I’m likely to run around screaming and punching people randomly. Actually, that sounds like fun. Does anyone know where I can get some Plavix?

Healthy Sex Pill
Posted by WIWAM in Sex/Drugs/Relationships/Dating on November 14th, 2009
Near the end of most commercials about male erectile dysfunction they’ll go through the steps you should take to determine whether or not you should take the advertised drug. First of all, these companies don’t really care if you should take it. 99.9% of television watchers don’t need this drug and for the most part they’re advertising to the typical paranoid American. Anyway, one of these steps is to consult your doctor and ask… here it comes… IF YOU’RE HEALTHY ENOUGH FOR SEX. Are they serious? What type of question is that to ask your doctor? Sure, maybe in some cases its relevant but is anyone actually going to ask that question? And more importantly, is anyone actually going to follow their doctor’s advice if he or she says they shouldn’t be having sex? The only reasons I can think of for not being healthy enough to have sex is bent penis syndrome, tattered vagina disease or perhaps the fact that you’re already dead. Other than those unlikely scenarios, people are having sex if it’s an option to them. So spare me the legal crap about being healthy enough to have sex.

Movies on TV
Posted by WIWAM in Sports/Entertainment/Music on August 25th, 2009
I hate watching movies on television when they’re not on a movie channel. Having a movie constantly interrupted by commercials is a terrible situation, unless it’s a comedy. If you’re watching a really intriguing and emotional drama and all of a sudden you’re bombarded by a, “Pancakes at IHOP!” commercial how can you go back to watching the movie? You can’t, it’s over. Fuck you, TV movie.
